What is a Classic profile

Classic C decking boards are machined on four sides. They are characterized by a short tongue (KP), which creates a smaller V-shaped joint when chamfered. The decking boards are connected using a tongue-and-groove system.

Quality of wooden AB decking

Class AB wooden decking includes 40% of class A decking (the highest quality) and 60% of class B (sorted according to the standard). The cladding decking boards are dried to 12 - 16% moisture.

Covering width of wooden decking

The covering width of the decking is smaller by the tongue, which is approximately 8 mm less than the total width.

Example: For a decking in the size 19×146 (thickness × width), the covering width is 138 mm (146 mm - 8 mm = 138 mm).

Tip: Always let the wooden planks acclimatize (at least 14 days) in the place where you will attach them. This will avoid unwanted swelling or shrinkage of the planks due to different humidity in the environment.

Installation of AB Klasik cladding planks

Use the plank clips to easily attach the planks. The planks are in an untreated state and the wood needs to be coated with a protective coating. The planks will be protected from wood-destroying fungi, mold, insects and moisture.

Tip: The facade cladding must always be at least 40 cm from the ground. If you are going to attach the planks horizontally, the groove must point downwards (this will prevent water from leaking in)

Tip: Do not force the planks together and maintain a 1 mm gap in the tongue and groove. Wood is constantly working and with increased humidity/temperature the wood will swell and vice versa.

 

What kind of screws for decking

When using screws or nails, it is important that their length is at least twice the thickness of the decking.
